BLANK
Now this autumn we can walk with luck through
golden leaves
Sandy blown upon the downtown streets
Still silted by a line of the unfulfilled
Do you remember the day when we were hard
pressed
To find a store for eggs and sausage or
fruit and vedge
When the littlest flashlight or tea candle
meant success
The prepared tub drained slowly down the plughole
whilst we slept
But we had gas and woollen jumpers over an
eight month belly
When the waters broke outside
Then we watched reports on New York One
About how we would be overcome
It was inevitable when the screen went
